Hi! My name is Mia Beinecke, I’m 21 and I’ve been Little Miss Cryptid for just over two years now 🙂

Drawing has been my passion my whole life! I grew up in Denver, Colorado and went straight into the tattoo industry upon graduating high school in 2023. I started sharing my art on instagram that summer in order to build a portfolio for an apprenticeship, and worked on trying to find a signature style. Tattooing ended up not being a good outlet to be able to do my art as a career, and on top of that I didn’t feel like the art I was making represented me, so once I left the industry I did a hard reset. I started looking back to the beginning for what had originally inspired me, and my art today pulls from things that had meaning to me in my childhood. I always gravitated towards whimsical things sprinkled with a little bit of creepiness, the biggest influences on my work being the Series of Unfortunate Events books, Tim Burton and Laika films, Alice in Wonderland, dollhouses, and antiques. My cryptid gals today are an ode the girls (and anyone!) that also felt like they were a little weird growing up, to know that you guys are seen and loved! And I think little Mia would be absolutely elated to be understood by so many people through her art! 🙂
